Ingredients: 12 slices firm-textured white bread 1/4 lb butter or margarine 1 8-oz package cream cheese, softened 4 Tbsp Grand Marnier or orange-juice (divided) 1 1/2 tsp grated orange rind 1/2 cup chopped pecans 8 eggs 2 1/2 cup milk 2 Tbsp granulated sugar Syrup Powdered sugar Instructions: Butter one side of each bread slice. Lay 6 slices flat, buttered side down in lightly buttered 13" x 9" pan. In small bowl, mix cream cheese, 2 tbsp. of Grand Marnier, orange rind, and pecans. Spread evenly in pan. Cover with remaining bread slices, butter side up. Beat the eggs, milk, granulated sugar and reamining 2 tbsp of Grand Marnier. Pour over bread and refigerate overnight. An hour before serving, bake at 350 degress for 50 minutes and serve hot. |
