Yield: 1 dozen

Ingredients:
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 tablepoons sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoon grated orange peel
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup raisins or 1/3 cup currants
1 egg slightly beaten
4 to 6 tablespoon half-and-half
1 egg slightly beaten

Orange butter:
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons orange marmalade

Instructions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees. In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and orange peel. Cut 1/3 cup butter into flour mixture until it resembles fine crumbs. Stir in raisin, 1 egg, and just enough half-and-half so that dough leaves sides of bowl. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead lightly 10 times. Roll dough into 9 inch circle; cut into 12 wedges. Place on cookie sheet. Brush with beaten egg. Bake for 10 to 12 min. or until golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. In small bowl stir together orange butter ingredients. Serve with scones. Yields 1/2 cup orange butter.
