Ingredients: 1 9" unbaked pie shell, bottom and sides pricked with a fork 4 slices bacon, cooked (not too crisp), patted with a paper towel and crumbled 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon white pepper 1 teaspoon fresh chives, chopped fine (or more to taste) 1/2 cup diced or shredded cheddar cheese Dash ground nutmeg 2 cups whole milk, or 1/2 and 1/2 cream, or condensed milk 3 eggs Instructions: Bring the milk (or 1/2 and 1/2) just to a boil, but do not boil. Cool a bit. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Fold in remaining ingredients and pour into pie shell. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes, until set and golden. Cool 5-10 minutes before cutting. |
