Ingredients: Tart 5 peeled & sliced apples 2 cups sugar Puff pastry dough, to fill 9” pie plate Melted butter for pie plate Champagne Sauce 4 egg yolks or equivalent in egg substitute 1 cup sugar 2 cups Champagne Instructions: Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix apples and sugar. Arrange apples in circular pattern on buttered 9” pie plate. Top with puffed pastry dough to cover apples. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until apples are tender and pastry is lightly browned. While tart is baking, prepare the sauce by whisking together the egg yolks, sugar and Champagne. After tart has cooled, invert onto cake dish so that the pastry is on the bottom, and the apples are on the top. Pour Champagne sauce over tart and serve. |
