Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Cook Time: 50 minPrep Time: 30 min
Yield: 6 servingsInactive Prep Time: 10 hr

Ingredients:
3-5 apples, depending on size
½ stick butter
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. vanilla
4 oz. cream cheese
French bread slices, cut diagonally,
Sliced thick
8 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups milk or combination of
Milk and cream
Cinnamon to cover top of dish


Instructions:
Mix eggs with milk, vanilla, touch of salt. Slice bread and let soak in egg mixture for a few minutes or overnight. Peel and slice apples thinly. Melt butter in a large pan. Add brown sugar. Cook apples for 2-3 minutes, until still firm. Place in bottom of a pan. Put a layer of flattened-out cream cheese over apples. Place bread over apples. Pour egg mixture over bread to cover. Sprinkle cinnamon over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes. Serve with maple syrup. Serves 6.
