Ingredients: 2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons Crisco shortening
3/4 cup milk
Instructions: Sift dry ingredients, work in Crisco, stir in just enough milk to moisten mixture: roll it out on a
floured board to 1/4 inch thick, spread with filling mixture. Roll up and cut 1/2 inch thick. Place cut edge down in a deep baking pan rubbed with Crisco. Bake in a moderate oven 350°F for 15 minutes.
Filling:
1/2 cup Crisco
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon,
1 egg yolk
Cream Crisco with sugar and cinnamon, add egg yolks. Finely chopped nuts, raisins or others may be added to filling.
