Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Ingredients: Blueberry or cinnamon bagles Blueberries or strawberries (strawberries must be cut into thin slices if using) Blueberry or strawberry flavored cream cheese, softened 3 eggs 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup cream 1 tablespoon cinnamon 1 tablespoon orange juice 1 teaspoon vanilla Nonstick spray Powdered sugar Maple sugar syrup Instructions: Prepare a small casserole dish, about 6-8" round or oblong in diameter, by spraying with nonstick spray. Set aside. Lay the bagles on a cutting board flat and cut into very thin slices. Butter with cream cheese and put 1 layer, cream cheese side down, into the prepared casserole dish. Add a layer of berries of choice. Add another layer of cream cheese buttered bagles, again laying cream cheese side down, towards berries. Decoratively arrange berries on the top as the final layer. Set aside. Mix eggs, sugar, cream, cinnamon, orange juice & vanilla in bowl until well mixed, about 1 minute. Pour over bagle/berry layers until saturated, filling entire cassrole. Note, if not enough mixture to fill bowl, mix another batch until full & remember for next time!. Set in refrigerator overnight. Bake 1 hour in 350° F oven until it puffs up. Serve with powdered sugar over the top and warmed maple sugar syrup. Notes: This recipe can be multiplied as many times as necessary. This is an original recipe by Bill. |
