Ingredients: 1 large container of old-fashioned oatmeal 1 cup honey 1 cup molasses 1 cup water 6 tablespoons cooking oil 1 1/2 cups sliced almonds 3 teaspoons cinnamon 6 cups mixed diced dried fruits, ie. cranberries, apricots, peaches, raisins, golden raisins, apples etc. Instructions: Place oatmeal, almonds and cinnamon in a large bowl. Place all the liquid ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil, add to dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Place mixture in large shallow baking sheets, two for this recipe, and put sheets in a 350°F oven. Set timer for 40 minutes but stir the mixture every ten minutes, for even toasting. Remove the pans, add the diced dried fruits and let mixture cool entirely until the granola is crisp. Combine thoroughly and place the granola in air tight containers. |
