Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Cook Time: 30 minPrep Time: 15 min
Yield: 6 servings 

Ingredients:
4L water
1/2 L Port Wine
3/4 C sugar
2 large cinnamon sticks
Small hand full of each: whole cloves, whole cardamon, star anise
6 large firm pears

Instructions:
Peel pears leaving stem at the top.
Combine all ingredients except pears and mix until sugar is dissolved. Place pears in cold liquid and bring to a slow simmer. Poach until tender approximately 20-30 minutes.
Serve warm or cold.
Serve with vanilla yogurt and a puddle of raspberry coulis. As a dessert serve with melted chocolate & berries.
