Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Yield: 2 dozen 

Ingredients:
1 Cup shortening
1 1/2 Cups pumpkin
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 1/2 Cups flour
1 Cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

Frosting:
1 Tablespoon margarine or butter
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
3 Tablespoons sour cream or evaporated milk
1/2 pound powdered sugar
crushed nuts


Instructions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Stir in pumpkin. Add remaining ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes.

Frosting:
Melt margarine or butter; stir in brown sugar. Add sour cream or milk; mix well. Cool and add powdered sugar and mix well. Frost cookies and sprinkle with crushed nuts.
