Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Yield: 6 servings 

Ingredients:
12 slices French bread - cut 1 1/2 inches thick
1-3 oz package light cream cheese
1/2 cup non-fat cottage cheese
2 Tbsp confectioners sugar
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
6 eggs
1 cup milk
2 Tbsp. margarine

Instructions:

Make horizontal pocket in each bread slice, set aside. Combine cream cheese, confectioners sugar, nutmetg and cinnamon, blending well. Divide and spread cheese mixture evenly into each bread slice. Combine eggs and milk in shallow dish. Dip bread slices in egg mixture, coating evenly on both sides. On griddle or non stick skillet over high heat, heat margarine until just hot enough to sizzle a drop of water. Place bread in pan, reduce heat to medium and cook on both sides until lightly browned. Serve with syrup and a dusting of confectioners sugar, if desired.
