Ingredients: 1-1/2 cups all purpose flour 1-1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp salt 2 large eggs 1-1/4 cups milk, whole or 2% 6 tbsp melted butter (reserve 1 tbsp to brush on waffle iron 1 cup sliced almonds 10 to 12 large sliced strawberries Instructions: Preheat the waffle iron. Using a fork, cut the dry ingredients together thoroughly in a large bowl, 6 qt is ideal. Beat the eggs and milk together using your fork or a whisk and pour into the dry ingredients. Mix together with the fork until there are no large lumps, do not over mix. Cut in 5 tbsp of the butter last. Toast the almonds on a cookie sheet for about 5 minutes, until golden brown. Put about 1 tbsp of almonds across surface of waffle batter, after pouring it on the iron. When waffles are done, top with additional almonds and strawberries. |
