Cook Time: 30 minPrep Time: 15 min
Yield: 8 dozen

Ingredients:
Arbor Hill Inn Toffee Bars (Laura’s recipe)
1 cup butter softened (room temp)
1 cup brown sugar packed
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
1/8th salt
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2—2 cups chocolate chips
1/4 cup finely chopped almonds

Instructions:
Grease 9x13 pan. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix thoroughly butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla until light and fluffy. Blend in flour and salt. Press evenly in bottom of pan.

Bake 25-30 min or until very light brown (crust will be soft). Remove from oven; immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on warm crust. Wait until chocolate is soft before spreading evenly. Sprinkle with nuts while chocolate is warm. Cool completely before cutting and chocolate is set (I refrigerate). Bring to room temp to cut. Cut into 1 inch square bars
