Ingredients: 2¼ cup flour ¾ cup shortening (mom uses butter) 1 cup sugar ¼ cup light molasses 1 egg beaten 2 t soda ¼ t salt 1 t cinnamon 1 t ground cloves 1 t ginger Instructions: Cream shortening or butter with sugar. Add molasses and egg. Beat well. Combine all dry ingredients and stir. Slowly add/incorporate dry ingredients with creamed mixture. Roll into small balls, roll in additional sugar and place on cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 min in a 350 degree oven. |
