Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Cook Time: 50 minPrep Time: 20 min
Yield: 10 servings 

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp light corn syrup
3/4 cup chopped pecans
12 thick slices French or Challah bread
4 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 cups milk or half and half
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
3 Tbsp granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, melted

Instructions:
Combine first three ingredients in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly 5 minutes or until bubbly. Pour syrup evenly into greased 9x13x2 inch pan. Sprinkle with pecans. Arrange bread over pecans. Combine milk or half and half, eggs, vanilla, and salt. Stir well and pour over bread. Cover and chill at least 8 hours. Remove from refrigerator and sprinkle with mixture of 3 Tbsp sugar and 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Drizzle with melted butter. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
