I just want you to know that I feel this is the greatest list of breakfast food recipes that I have ever come across. Believe me, I surf the web many hours a day and I am lucky to have found this web site. Keep up the good work.

Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients:
2 cups of plain flour
1 stick of butter, chilled
1/2 cup of sugar
5 cups sliced, peeled, baking apples
Vanilla ice cream

Instructions:
Pre-heat oven to 350°F. Place apple slices in 8x8 baking dish. Put flour into food processor, cut butter stick into 8 pieces and add to flour. Run food processor for 20 seconds. Mixture will be like breadcrumbs. Add sugar and mix for 5 seconds. Sprinkle mixture on top of apples. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Spoon into individual dishes and top with scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This was my mother's recipe. I grew up in the North of England, where this was a dessert dish after dinner. In the New England tradition, Nereledge served apple pie after breakfast since the 1920s. I have found that the guests enjoy this little finale to breakfast.

Notes:
I use other fruits in season, e.g. fresh peaches or blueberries.
