Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Cook Time: 25 minPrep Time: 20 min
Yield: 6 servings 

Ingredients:
6 (1") French bread slices
4 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 T. dark brown sugar
1t. almond extract
1/2 t. ground nutmeg
2 T. amaretto
3T. butter
1/4 cup sliced almonds (toasted)
Powdered sugar/syrup


Instructions:
Arrange slices in greased 13 x 9 pan. Whisk eggs, milk, brown sugar, almond extract, ground nutmeg and amaretto. Pour over bread slices and let stand 3 minutes, then turn bread over. Chill for 8 hours. Melt butter 400 degrees, use 15 x 10 jelly roll pan, and add soaked bread. Bake 400 degrees for 15 minutes and turn over. Bake 8 minutes more. Sprinkle with almonds and powdered sugar.
