Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Cook Time: 20 minPrep Time: 30 min
Yield: 4 cups 

Ingredients:
1 lb. walnuts (can substitute any nut)
1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
2 qts. simple syrup (equal parts of sugar and water)
1 cup turbinado or coarse grind sugar
1 tsp. ground cayenne pepper (optional)


Instructions:
Mix cinnamon, simple syrup and walnuts in a large sauce pan. Bring to boil and boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain well and spread on oiled baking sheet. Generously sprinkle with turbinado sugar. Bake at 325 degrees F for 20 minutes. Stir. Sprinkle with sugar again and bake until crisp, stirring occasionally. Let cool. These will keep well in zipper plastic bags.
