Cook Time: 45 minPrep Time: 10 min
Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients:
4 eggs
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. butter, melted and cooled
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 unbaked pie crust

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Beat eggs and sugar in medium bowl until fluffy. Add buttermilk, melted butter and vanilla. Pour into pie crust.

Bake for 40 minutes or until center is set. Cool and serve at room temperature or chilled.

Store leftovers (if there are any!) in the refrigerator.

Notes:
This is a very old fashioned recipe that came from my grandmother. It's a delicious custard filling, and doesn't taste like buttermilk!
