Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Whether you're hosting a formal get-together or need a quick brunch idea, this book will spark your imagination and your appetite.

Ingredients:
5 T butter
5 sweet apples or 5 mixed tart and sweet apples

1 cup brown sugar
2 T Karo syrup
1 t cinnamon

3 eggs
1 cup milk
1 t vanilla

5-6 slices day-old bread

cinnamon for sprinkling

warm maple syrup for serving

Instructions:
· Pre-heat oven to 350.
· Peel, quarter, and slice apples.
· Saute apples in melted butter.
· Place the brown sugar, syrup, and cinnamon in a 9 x 12 baking pan.
· Add the apples, stir to mix, and spread evenly.
· Cut slices of bread in half to fit over apple mixture.
· Mix the eggs, milk, and vanilla in a blender.
· Pour over bread.
· Sprinkle cinnamon liberally over bread.
· Bake for 30 minutes.
· Serve with warm maple syrup.


Notes:
Can be prepared the night before and refrigerated.
