 Prep Time: 15 min
Yield: 6 servingsInactive Prep Time: 2 hr

Ingredients:
One 8-oz container mascarpone cheese (Italian cream cheese)
6 Tbsp imported sweet Marsala, divided
3 Tbsp whipping or heavy cream
3 Tbsp sugar, divided
3 cups sliced hulled strawberries (about 15 oz)
2 imported amaretti cookies per serving, coarsely crumbled

Instructions:
Combine mascarpone, 3 Tbsp of the Marsala, the cream and 2 Tbsp of the sugar in a medium bowl; stir gently till well blended.

Combine strawberries, remaining 3 Tbsp Marsala, and remaining 1 Tbsp sugar in another medium bowl; toss gently to blend.

Cover mascarpone and strawberry mixtures and refrigerate 30 minutes.

Place in each of six bowls or parfait glasses one crumbled amaretti cookie; divide strawberry mixture with juices among the six bowls. Top berries with mascarpone mixture, then remaining cookies. Cover and chill at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours.

Notes:
Note: this also makes a lovely dessert; if making for dessert, use in all 2 ¼ cups crumbled amaretti cookies (about 4 ½ ounces).
