Ingredients: 1 and 1/2 cups water 2 cups milk 2 cups old fashioned oats 1 TBSP butter 1 cup dried cranberries 1 TBSP brown sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1/3 cup maple syrup Instructions: In heavy saucepan, combine water and milk, and bring to a rolling boil. Add oats, cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in cranberries,and spice and sugars. continue to simmer until liquid is absorbed and oats are creamy. Serve with additional syrup and brown sugar. So good on a cold winter day!! Notes: This can be prepared in a crock pot the night before for a great early morning breakfast. Decrease water to 1 cup, set up crock pot at night on low, and Oatmeal with cranberries will great you in the morning! |
