Ingredients: 6 Tbsp butter or margarine 4 medium apples or pears 1/2 cup raisins (optional) 1/3 cup brown sugar 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon 6 eggs 1 1/2 cups milk 1 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp salt Cinnamon Custard Sauce: 1/4 cup sugar 4 tsp cornstarch 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/8 tsp salt 1 cup milk 1 egg yolk 1/2 tsp vanilla Instructions: Put Butter in 10-12 inch iron skillet or glass baking dish. Put in cold oven and preheat to 425, until butter is melted. Place sliced fruit in dish and bake 10 minutes. Toss sugar, raisins, and cinnamon with fruit. Beat remaining ingredients together and pour over fruit. Bake 20-30 minutes or until center is set. Cool about 15 minutes before slicing. Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium-low heat until thick. Remove from heat. Beat a small amount of hot sauce in egg yolk and vanilla. Return to heat and stir in egg mixture. Simmer on low until ready to serve, stirring occasionally. |
