Ingredients: ½ order serves 6 Full order (serves 12) 6 12 lasagne noodles, cooked and drained ½ 1 lb of bacon, cut in 1-inch strips (at least 1 lb) ½ 1 cup chopped onions 1/6 1/3 cup bacon drippings 1/6 1/3 cup all purpose flour ¼ salt 1/8 pepper 2 cups milk 6 hard-cooked eggs, sliced 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese 1/6 cup grated parmesan cheese 1 tablespoons chopped parsley Instructions: In large skillet, cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 1/3 cup drippings. Set bacon aside. Cook onions in bacon drippings until tender. Add flour, salt and pepper; stir until paste forms. Add milk; cook and stir until mixture comes to a boil and is thickened. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13x9-inch baking dish. Spoon a small amount of white sauce into bottom of pan. Divide lasagna noodles, bacon, white sauce, eggs and swiss cheese into thirds; layer in pan. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Sprinkle with parsley. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. 6 servings. Notes: Make Ahead Tip: Assemble the day before. Cover and refrigerate. Bake, covered at 350°F for 25 minutes. Remove cover, bake 15 to 20 minutes longer or until hot. |
