Ingredients: 1 loaf French bread (best if it's a couple of days old) 12-14 eggs 2 Tbsp sugar 1 quart whipping cream 1 1/2 Tbsp vanilla Instructions: In a large mixing bowl combines eggs and sugar. Mix on high speed approx. 2 minutes. Add cream and vanilla, mix additional 1-2 minutes. NOTE: This is enough liquid for 8 slices of bread. Cut bread into 1" thick slices and place in heavy baking dish(es). Allow some room for bread to expand during baking. Pour mixture over bread and let set for 1 hour, turning slices every 20 minutes. After 1 hour cover and refrigerate over night. In morning turn bread once again and sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake in pre-heated 350 degree oven 40-45 minutes. Sprinkle with butter and warm syrup. |
