Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Yield: 8 servings 

Ingredients:
10 slices French bread, 2" thick
3 T. strawberry or apricot preserves
1 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
6 oz. package cream cheese, sliced into 10 pieces
5 eggs
1 cup milk
1/4 cup maple syrup
dash nutmeg and dash cinnamon
1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions:
We use spreadable cream cheese and spread a light coating on the bread. We also slice bread through, rather than making pockets. It holds together better.

Slice bread almost through to make pocket. Mix ricotta cheese and preserves. Fill pocket of bread with tablespoon of cheese mixture and slice of cream cheese. Press together lightly. Place in greased 9 x 13 baking dish. Blend eggs, milk, butter, maple syrup, nutmeg and cinnamon. Pour over slices and refrigerate overnight. Bake 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with syrup and butter or melt two cups strawberry preserves over heat and add fresh strawberry slices.
