 Jim's Baked Apples Recipe

Yield: 6 servings 

Ingredients:
6 Granny Smith apples
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon butter or margarine
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup nuts, optional
1 cup apple cider
Cinnamon and nutmeg to taste


Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove the core from the apples and peel top third of the skin. Mix the sugar, raisins and nuts, and stuff the apples with this mixture. Put a teaspoon of butter on each apple and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Cover bottom of 9 x 13 baking dish with the cider, and bake for 50-60 minutes, basting every 20 minutes. Cool before serving.
