Ingredients: Batter: 2 1/2 cups flour 1/2 cup turbinado sugar 3 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup milk 2 eggs 1 tsp almond extract Topping: 2/3 cup flour 4 Tbsp butter 4 Tbsp brown sugar 1/2 tsp cinnamon Also: 2 lbs. pears, sliced Instructions: Grease and flour a 9" springform pan. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare batter by mixing together wet and dry ingredients. Spread in bottom of pan. Arrange pear slices on top of batter, overlapping. Mix topping ingredients and sprinkle over pears. Bake 40 minutes and cool 10 before removing ring. Serve warm. Note: try substituting fresh peaches for pears in the summer! |
