Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Ingredients:
Pastry:
1 1/4 cup flour
3/4 tsp grated lemon peel
1/2 cup melted butter
3 1/2 Tbsp cold water
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice

Filling:
3 apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp brandy
1/4 cup turbinado sugar
1/2 tsp each nutmeg, cinnamon
3 Tbsp butter

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Butter and flour large cookie sheet. In a small bowl, combing ingredients for pastry. Form into a ball and place in freezer for 15 minutes. In another bowl, toss apples with lemon juice and brandy. Set aside. In a small bowl, mix sugar and spices together. Roll out dough on floured board or counter to 13" round. Place carefully on center of cookie sheet. Spoon apples with liquid on pastry, spreading out, but leaving 2" border of pastry. Sprinkle apples with sugar mixture and dot with butter. Fold edges of pastry in, leaving center of tart uncovered.

Loosely cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake 40 minutes more. Remove from oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
