 Aunt Alice's Soft Sugar Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
3/4 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
5 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
2 tsp vanilla

Buttercream Frosting:
2 boxes powdered sugar
1 stick butter
1 cup Crisco
2 tsp vanilla
milk

Instructions:
Cream shortening. Add sugar, then eggs. Sift together dry ingredients. Add alternately with flour and buttermilk. Add vanilla last. Drop by tsp. Bake at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes. Frost with Buttercream frosting.

Combine all ingredients and mix with enough milk to make frosting smooth and creamy and of spreading consistency.
