Ingredients: Mix together: 3/4 cup shortening 1 cup dark brown sugar 1 egg 1/4 cup molasses Add: 2 1/2 cup flour (sifted) 2 tsp soda 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp ground cloves 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp ginger Instructions: Chill dough thoroughly (1-2 hours). Roll into 3/4 inch balls (watermelon scoop works for this). Dip into granulated sugar. Bake on greased pan 350 degrees 8-10 minutes Cookies should be slightly chewey. These freeze well. |
