Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Ingredients:
2 1//4 cups flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup diced dates (optional)
1 cup fresh cranberies
grated rind of 2 oranges
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup vegetable oil

For glaze:
1 cup orange juice
1 cup granulated sugar

Instructions:
In large bowl, mix together first 5 ingredients. Add nuts, dates, cranberries, and orange rind. Combine eggs, milk and oil. Add to flour and fruit mixture. Stir until blended. Pour into well-greased 10 inch tube pan. Bake for 1 hour and 350 degrees. Let stand until partially cool. Remove to rack placed over wide dish.

Combine sugar and orange juice. Heat in microwave until sugar has dissolved. Pour over warm cake. Continue to pour drippings over cake until all juice has been absorbed. Turn cake upside-down to coat underside also. Wrap in foil and refrigerate 24 hours before serving. Keeps 2 weeks or more refrigerated.
