Ingredients: 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 tbsp
2 tbsp. pancake syrup
6 tbsp. butter
tsp. maple extract
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1 baguette sliced (16 slices each 3/4 inch thick)
2 apples (peeled and sliced thinly)
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
Instructions: In a saucepan combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, butter, syrup and extract until sugar is dissolved. Pour into greased 9 inch deep dish pan. Sprinkle chopped nuts over syrup. Place a layer of baguette slices on syrup mixture. Top with sliced apples. Sprinkle with 3 tbsp. brown sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Add top layer of baguette slices, matching up with bottom layer. In a small bowl whisk together milk, egg and vanilla. Pour over baguette slices coating each one well and using all the milk mixture. Place in fridge over night and bake in morning in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Loosen edges with a knife. Place serving plate over pan and invert. Serve warm.
