Ingredients: 1-1 1/2 lb loaf French bread, cubed or torn
1 qt half & half
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp almond flavoring
1 cup almonds, sliced
3 eggs
Sauce:
1/2 lb butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup Amaretto
Instructions: Pour half & half over bread cubes. Add sugar, eggs, almond flavoring and almonds. Mix well. Pour into buttered 9x11 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Mix egg and powdered sugar. Melt butter in powdered sugar. Melt butter in saucepan. Add powdered sugar mixture. Cook until smooth. Take off heat and add Amaretto. Cut pudding into squares and serve hot with warm sauce and whipping cream.
