Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Yield: 10 servings 

Ingredients:
4 cups Peeled, chopped McIntosh apples
2 cups Fresh cranberries (one bag)
1 1/2 tsp. Lemon juice
1 cup Granulated sugar

Topping
1 1/3 cups Quick oats, uncooked
1 cup Chopped walnuts
1/3 Cup Firmly-packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Butter or margarine, melted

Optional:
Top with heavy whipping cream or ice cream

Instructions:
Combine the apples and cranberries in a lightly greased, 13" x 9" (you can vary this smaller if you wish) baking dish. Sprinkle with the lemon juice and top with the granulated sugar.

Combine the oats, walnuts, brown sugar, and melted butter. Stir mixture just until dry ingredients are moistened and mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over the fruit. Bake at 325 degrees for one (1) hour. Serve warm plain or with optional topping.

Comments: This makes a wonderful pre-main course for breakfast or an after dinner dessert.
